Testimonials
Thank you for taking the time to read the stories and hear the testimonies
of a few families we have had the privilege to serve.
Meet Sharon. Sharon has no family and lives alone. Her disability income is tight
and her health insurance was cancelled. She had been doing without water in her
bathroom sink for 2 years. God opened a door for us not only to serve her but
to break through to a heart hardened by years of loneliness and bitterness.

Meals on Wheels brought Mary to our attention. She is physically disabled and
very poor materially but rich in her love for the Lord. For more than 2 years,
poster boards covered holes in her walls but her biggest concern was her door
locks. They didn’t work. Anyone could have broken in leaving her feeling
vulnerable and unsafe. And sadly, the evidence of a dishonest contractor lurked
since there were no doors leading to any of the rooms in her house. But because
of the compassion from people who care and the labor from True Texas Women, Mary
now has new sheet rocked and freshly painted walls, newly painted cabinets
in her kitchen, and new doors and locks for the doorway openings in her house.
Seen here with her Cockatoo, “Dolly” listen as Mary expresses her
relief and gratitude for all her repairs and installations.

Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth contacted us to see if we could offer
any help to Amy Hooten and her seven children. By the grace of God Amy
is managing to put herself through college while maintaining a 4.0 grade average!
Each of her children is full of joy and love their mom, especially her oldest
child, Ryan.
Ryan is 16 now but has the mind of a 2 year old. Their refrigerator needed to
be replaced and Amy was cooking their meals on a stove that only had one working
burner. What a joy it was to bless this family with new kitchen appliances made
possible by our generous and loving donors. And thanks to Best Buy, all three
appliances were delivered the same day one exciting Saturday morning.

Propane is expensive! And much too costly for recently widowed Candace to purchase
for the home she is trying to make now for her 18 month old son Daniel. But God
continues to move in the hearts of those that love fatherless children and widows
in need. And so on the 4th of July weekend and thanks to Gene Harris Petroleum,
Inc., we were able to see to it that Daniel gets a warm bath everyday and food
to eat that doesn’t have to be cold. But most of all, Candace was receptive
as we shared the gospel and is open to us helping her find just the right church
where Daniel can learn that he does have a father and his name is Jesus.
